Introducing the New Sports Revolution
February 18, 2008

COLUMBUS, OH -- The Team: Sports, Entertainment, & Media announces the opening of Revolution Enterprises, LLC, a new company it has developed as an answer to the failing business models in niche and minor league sports.

Backed by a group of founding partners and investors with many years of sports and entertainment experience and working in partnership with industry giant Global Spectrum, Revolution embraces a system that focuses on individual team success through sensible financial models and real management expertise in every team office. The Revolution business model is based on combining low acquisition prices and financial systems that work at the minor league and niche level with successful management experience, all wrapped within a franchisor-franchisee structure.

As the franchisor, Revolution will sell franchises to franchisees in local markets. Unlike in traditional sports leagues, however, Revolution franchisees will be able to develop profitable local sports companies that will have the opportunity to present numerous sports and entertainment products all under the same business umbrella.

Revolution will initially offer four sports products – Revolution Football (reduced field), Revolution Lacrosse (indoor), Revolution Boxing, and Revolution Hockey. Revolution will also provide franchisees the opportunity to present other Revolution Entertainment properties such as concerts, extreme games events, and other types of programming.

“This is a fundamental change for our industry,” said Dave Whinham, President and CEO of The Team. Whinham, who will also serve in a similar leadership capacity with Revolution, added, “The Revolution system gives our operators all of the tools necessary for success in niche and minor league sports – affordable acquisitions, appropriate economics, an opportunity to present a wide variety of quality programming, and, best of all, meaningful management support.”

Acquisition prices for individual sport products will be as low as $150,000. That low acquisition price, which represents only a fraction of the acquisition price for similar sports products in other leagues, will enable franchisees to purchase numerous sports products for presentation in their local market.

“In the last few years some niche-level sports teams have been purchased for $5 million, $10 million, $15 million, and more,” said Whinham. “Many more have folded over frustration with annual losses in the millions. A Revolution franchisee will pay a small fraction of the acquisition fees charged by comparable leagues for one team and be in a position to operate two, three, or even more teams. Our partners do not have to be dependent on a very limited number of home events in a single season to produce revenue in an upside-down model. They can achieve profitability via realistic sales goals within a wide array of Revolution products.”

Revolution franchise opportunities will be brokered exclusively by The Team: Sports, Entertainment, & Media (www.theteamllc.com). The Team has successfully managed transactions for an array of entities throughout the sports and entertainment industry since opening in 2002.

Whinham joins The Team’s Frank Pergolizzi and long-time minor league sports owner/operator Dr. Eric Margenau as founding partners of Revolution Enterprises, LLC. The company’s founding partners have many decades of combined experience operating and managing sports teams and organizations.

The first team sports products presented by Revolution will be Revolution Football and Revolution Lacrosse, both of which will begin play in 2009. Local franchisees will begin presenting Revolution Entertainment concerts and Revolution Boxing events as early as the spring of 2008.

Global Spectrum, the fastest growing venue management firm in the world with more than 70 facilities throughout North America, has joined Revolution as a strategic partner. The agreement will allow Revolution to place numerous sports and entertainment products within venues managed by Global Spectrum, a subsidiary of international sports and entertainment providers Comcast-Spectacor.

Additionally, Global Spectrum intends to provide promotional support and assistance in placing individual events such as concerts and other types of programming.
